Mission: Midnight
Location: IKS M'oQreH, en-route to Frontier

Captains Log. Its been three weeks since the Duras attack on Starbase Frontier. All of the damage sustained has now been repaired and life has returned to normal. Construction of the Takagi Shipyard is well under way, and they should be operational in a few months. Starfleet and the KDF are hoping that soon Starbase Frontier will be not only an important port along the passage, but will be a sign of strength and unity to others in the area.

We have detected more Tholian activity along the border. However they seem to be sticking to their side of the border. I believe they are being cautious, as long as we don't bother them, they shouldn't bother us.

Also, the new Executive Officer should be arriving today. The Klingon Defense Force seemed to take their time when it comes to choosing an replacement for Commander Tormek. However I have been informed that this new Exec has a lot of potential. I am looking forward to meeting with them once they arrive.

End Log

Personal Log, looks like my efforts to avoid command has come to an end, High Command has placed me as Executive Officer on Frontier Station, a joint effort between us and the Federation.

It isn't a bad thing, the Federation are quite accepting so maybe...

It seems I still have that favour from High Command, at least I am out of Imperial space. The IKS M'oQreH arrived only an hour ago and now I am on my way to Frontier.

High Command believes Frontier will become a big deal. This slightly scares me but perhaps this might be my chance.

/\\/Soghla' Thor, we are approaching Frontier station./\\/

End log.

Thorillo smiled a toothy grin as many had begun to address him as Thor. He liked it, it was a powerful nickname. It seemed like an hour ago he was on a K'vort class bird of prey near Gamelan 5 on patrol as Second officer and Chief of Security but now freshly promoted to Soghla' and Executive officer to a starbase by order of High Command.

Guess I just go with the flow, he mused as he made his way to the bridge of the IKS M'oQreH and entered. He'd mostly stayed in his quarters studying the starbase and the Starfleet crew, so he didn't met everyone yet.

As the doors made a loud sound. "Commander!" The helmsman said as he turned to face him. "We are approaching Frontier Station."

Vok’Ka sat at a Tactical console, going over the logs from the previous shift. He knew the importance of crew efficiency on an Imperial vessel and he’d always made it a priority. He had also reached out to several contacts on Q'onoS and gotten information about his new commanding office. Both sources had spoken highly of the man - competent and loyal to the Empire; exactly what Vok’Ka wanted in a commanding officer.

He heard the doors to the Bridge begin to open and he snapped to rigid attention. He thumped his chest in salute as the new Soghla’ stepped onto the Bridge.

“Weapons charged and standing by; shields show maximum charge as well, sir,” Vok’Ka barked. He knew they wouldn’t need either, seeing as they were coming into port at Frontier, but he also wanted to show that the crew was ready for anything.

"Glorious! Hail and get our docking permission!" Thor called as he walked around the structural beams to see the Captain's chair.

VepKa stood in front of the chair;her strict rule that if she was not on Counsel business and in command, she did not feel right sitting in the chair. She stepped aside at the first tone of the Commander.

"All ready in the process." VepKa knew that her position on the station was a short cut to the 'Federation' Red-Tape that suck on everything Star Fleet touches. "Once at the outer sensor we have been on a floating docking, once in range the algorithm cleared us to our normal Docking Port." VepKa did not even look over her shoulder. "Garrison Vessels have 'assigned' Docking."

She almost spat the words.

"Makes it easier for us to be kept tabs upon. The Federation Likes to know 'where' her ships are at all times; as this ship is on loan we fall under the 'need to know' category."

Finally looking over her shoulder to the Commander.

"Welcome to the Federation Frontier station we happen to Co-occupy with the Federation. And in Fleet Jargin; as we are not a Capitol ship get ready to be called Skipper by Federation command we work with. Comes from the old destroyer and Submarine days of old Earth Navy."

"Thank you Lieutenants!" Thor laughed giving both Vepka and Vok'ka both a good look. "Ah the Federation and their ways..." He said and stepped to stand in front of the chair but didn't sit. They weren't going to be onboard for much longer.

He grinned. "At least we know where their ships are." Thor countered with a toothy smile. "I heard I missed a great battle! The news came too late. Has there been any songs written yet of the glorious victory and honour to those who fought to their deaths?" He asked of the Orion.

"Yes but yet to be sung together." VepKa said softly. "Not enough Genuine Blood wine gathered for the occasion... yet." There was a mischief in her expression.

Vok’Ka smiled an equally toothy grin at the recounting of the latest deeds. He had already started formulating a new warnog recipe. He had procured several ingredients that were only available on Q'onoS for this brew. It promised to be his best batch yet.

“I don’t know about bloodwine, but I will be brewing a special batch of warnog to celebrate the defeat of the traitors,” Vok’Ka offered.

"Looks like I must place an order to the Empire for Blood wine. 40 barrels should be enough to last, some time. You brew warnog? I look forward to drinking some." Thor announced and turned to the Orion woman as he spoke. "Our new warriors can bring them barrels, how many should I send for Lieutenant...?" He gestured to the Orion woman as she'd yet to introduce herself. "Time for Introductions! I am Lieutenant Commander Thorillo Son of Drej and new Executive officer of the Starbase Frontier and the Commanding officer of the M'oQreH." He said formally.

"VepKa of the Empire." She introduced herself proudly. "Klingon Intel and Executive Officer of the M'oQreH. Also Masterless Slave to Frontier Station." VepKa grinned a little. 'That is not a story for the Bridge; Just know I will die with or for the Empire and this ship."

"Well met Lieutenant VepKa! Indeed we all will die for the Empire and this ship."

“I am Vok’Ka, son of Mar’To,” Vok’Ka barked when the commander’s attention turned his way. He bowed slightly and continued.

“I currently serve the Empire as Commander of the Guard for the Empire’s forces assigned to Starbase Frontier. I also serve as the Weapons Officer aboard the M'oQreH. Kahless has seen fit to guide me here after serving on several ships of the Empire,” the sogh explained.

"Well met Lieutenant Vok'Ka," Thor replied as he pounded his left chest with his right fist as a show of respect for his crew.

Frontier station indicated that they were now in 'docked' position and the station's transporters had confirmed link to the M'oQreH's transporters. Thor wasn't sure he wanted to explore this Slave topic on his first day but maybe later. He is on the fence about Slavery and had yet to fully encounter it being constantly on the move.

"Let's get over there Crew." Thor announced as he motioned for them all to follow. Of course there would be the skeleton crew left aboard to keep prepared for battle.

"You will find the Captain 'unique." VepKa said as she started towards the rear hatchway. "I shall see to the docking before going to my Offices. Those Federation types like to keep a ship 'Tightly Moored' and I want to make sure no more is added to the clams that is required." She winked to the two Officers. "I shall see you about the station." She bid as the hatch was opening.

Thor nodded. "Yes, you honour this ship and crew with your dedication to duty, Lieutenant." He called after the Orion woman. "Qapla," he added as he headed to the transporter room hopefully with Vok'ka in tow.
