Mission:
Blockade
Location: Starbase Frontier, Main Operations
Timeline: MD01 - 10:00
Previously on Star Trek Frontier:
“Whatever we decide, we must understand at the onset that the traitor has the advantage in numbers. That means, at least in early engagements, we will suffer losses. We can mitigate those losses by having better tactics but we, each one of us, must make peace with the fact that their will be blood spilled and we will witness that,” Vok’Ka said, gravely.
Firax was listening to the back and forth and agreed to an extent with the analysis, but now he had to speak his thoughts "Duras has also used Breen and Nausicaan mercenaries to assist in their plots. This way they deflect the enemy away from them; your smoke and mirrors as you say. I know this as my sister is second officer on a K't'inga class."
"Wait, so you're saying that the could possibly be getting the Breen and the Nausicaans in on this?" Maki pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "This just became a clusterf*** and a half..."
"Only if we play Duras game.." Vep Ka started. "Duras has let it be known they are on the move, instilling panic and what humans call a 'Knee-jerk' reaction. We need to see the players of this game before we commit to the game of chance."
And now the continuation...
Vep Ka gave a scary but sultry smile before continuing.
"I have ways of finding out things and that is what I will do. My task is easy, holding back and protection is the Ma- Captain's job with Commander backing her. "Tactics go both ways, a Seven of Magnificent fought off forty bandits, we need to make cost to invade steep to scare off the less 'Dedicated' of Duras allies."
The station's first officer raised his fist to silence the room and its debate. "I have heard enough!" A conniving opponent such as the House of Duras could not be fought on traditional grounds. To defeat the cowardly required...alternate techniques. "Do not speak this traitor's house name here, ever again," he swiftly and angrily demanded with a bass-filled tonal inflection.
Tormek's attention turned to Starbase Frontier's small and purple-haired commanding officer. "I will take the M'oQreH to Qo'noS. There, we will gain the support of the High Council and reveal their network of influence. The traitors would not demand such a bold concession - a seat within our government - without its spies and agents already in place." Tormek then glanced around the room to potentially recruit additional officers for his unorthodox mission. His eyes settled on the almost-7-foot-tall Starfleet CWO security officer.
"You, Nausicaan. You will come with us," Tormek pointed to Firax, tilting his chin up with subtle respect. "And the Gorn. I request him as well."
Firax’s mouth twisted into an approximation of a frown for a Nausicaan. He was conflicted, his oath and loyalty lay with the Federation and Starfleet, yet he was assigned to a starbase of mixed Klingon Empire personnel, whom the station’s First Officer was one, and Starfleet personnel, whom the Commander of the station was one. Whose order’s did he follow in this situation.
"And how do you propose you get past those ships?" Kagami asked simply, her arms crossed. She had remained quiet, observing the crew and listening to their suggestions. "No doubt they are watching our every move, as soon as you undock they are likely to open fire."
"Captain!" one of the officer's called from one of the tactical stations. "The civilian transport ship Syracuse is sending out an emergency distress call. They've just entered the area and are being fired upon by the Klingons."
"Ah, shit, not this again..." Maki could be heard muttering.
"Whats their defences like?" Kagami asked quickly.
"Hardly any. Its a civilian transport vessel, she won't last long."
"Put it on screen."
The image on the large main vewer changed to show the defenceless Federation Transport being circled and fired upon by several Klingon Vessels.
"Crew compliment?" Kagami asked.
"Six hundred twelve. Many of them civilians and officers that are coming here."
Kagami looked at her officers. "Well, move people!" she ordered. She expected the crew to know where to go and what to do as per their training. The protocols here were to attempt to beam the people on that transport aboard, and bring them under the base's protection at all costs.
Firax snarled and immediately left the room. He hit his combadge =/\=Firax to security team Alpha. Report to Deck twenty-seven immediately. Prepare for Onboarding battle and rescue of civilians.=/\= He ran down the corridor making his way to Deck twenty-seven.
"I'll ready sickbay to begin receiving the wounded," Maki sighed as she turned to leave. "Again..."
Ki'ana wasted no more time rushing off to Ops - and by rush, she really did rush, at about top speed she could muster. Imagine someone running down the hall at the speed of a car while weaving in and out of the crowd. Scary. She emerged panting from the turbolift and scurried to an empty station,
Working from his station on the USS Kingfisher, Lazarus was able to work both the Starbase and Starship consoles. He quickly worked in tandem with his associates both far and near.
"Can we get a tractor beam lock on that ship?" Kagami asked quickly.
Ki'ana's fingers flew over the controls. It'd been a while since she'd needed to do any of this, but at least she still remembered how. "Got it." She announced.
The Chief Engineer did his best to reinforce the tractor beam as it was emitted. He rerouted power that wasn't necessary to reinforce the beam.
Kagami pondered for a few brief seconds. "Commander, push all available auxiliary power to the transporters. Everything we can spare, beam those people to the station. Now!" she ordered quickly.
Lazarus quickly diverted power to transporters to assist with operations.
Vep Ka had seen her chance to depart, she is not the type to rush head long into the fray without good reason. The Master was busy and the Commander; who took mastery of her, in his own words, all wanted to save the ship and personnel.
A flotilla of Klingon ships all hunting for anything getting off the station. Especially if it were not an illogical presumption that Tormek would use the Klingon Garrison vessel to sneak past a network of similar technology vessels.
What a waste, Vep Ka would have to use one of Owner's gifts to do what the Garrison ship cannot, get past the network blockading the station.
"I just had a new coat of stealth pain on her." Vep Ka muttered under her breath.
In all the commotion who would notice a Slave Girl slipping quietly into the background and away?
